Sour cherry (Prunus cerasus) is an important kind of fruit in the region of Toplica (Serbia), and it covers the area of about 7,000 ha. This area is spreading and the whole production of sour cherry becomes bigger, as well, because domestic and foreign demands are in constant increase. The aim of the investigations in this paper, is focussed to the analysis of realized production and economic results in sour cherry production, variety of Oblacinska, in case of one social farm during 2004/2005. The fact is that in the practice and upon the literature evidence it is known that it was not given enough attention to economic aspects of sour cherry production. There are much more results of the investigation of the selection of stocks and varieties and applied technology, too, then the results which are related to the problems of the organization and economics of sour cherry production. Its fruits are excellent for making different kinds of products, such as compote, juice and cherry brandy. Because of its importance, our tendency is to protect it as an autochthonous fruit kind of the region, and to make it our domestic brand on the world market. The special importance of this production is that it is concentrated on export. First of all, it is the Western Market-it needs a constant source of raw material because it has great capacities for manufacturing. In this paper, the economic analysis of the Oblacinska sour cherry production has been covered. It is a leading kind of fruit in this area, and development of the whole region depends on it.
