Achievement and learning retention on biology taxonomy of Mathayoumsuka IV students by cooperative learning activities

Purposes of this research were: (1) to study Biology learning achievement of Taxonomy in Mathayomsuksa IV through cooperative learning (2) to study Biology learning retention of Taxonomy in Mathayomsuksa IV through cooperative learning. The sample was 78 Mathayomsuka IV students at Kasetsart University Laboratory School Kamphaengsaen Campus, Changwat Nakhonpathom during the first semester of the 2000 academic year. They were selected by cluster random sampling. The research instruments were lesson plans, work sheet, the biology learning achievement test which the validity was 0.67-1.00, reliability was 0.74. The data were analysed by means of match paired t-test. The findings were: (1) the Biology learning achievement of students before and after teaching with cooperative learning was signiflcant difference at 0.01 level. The biology learning achievement after teaching with cooperative learning was higher than before teaching with cooperative learning (2) The biology learning retention of student learning by taught with cooperative learning was significant difference at 0.01 level.
