[Substantiating a zone to grow brewing barley]

Strategic provisions of raising the effectiveness and sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine on the basis of the specialization of farming in connection with of environmetal conditions are generally recognized ones. In this contry seven specialization zones for maximum realization of its agropotential are isolated. The paper deals with substantiating the growing of brewing barley on the basis of the relationship of quality and the correspondence of soil and climatic conditions. A zone with the optimum conditions to provide for the farm production of the brewing barley in Ukraine is isolated. It is found out that the optimum conditions for producing the brewing barley in Ukraine are in the territory of the western and central Lisostep (Forest Steppe) of Ukraine presented by loamy chornozems. These soils occupy an area of 2 mln. ha and will allow harvesting about 2 mln. tonnes of grain and responding the domestic needs in brewing barley and partial realization thereof in the world market.
