Importance of microfinancing for the struggle with poverty and for the development of rural region

The present publication discusses the problem of microfinancing from an organizational-economic viewpoint and places emphasis on its importance for the struggle with poverty and for the rural regions. It emerged in the developing countries (during the fifties of the 20th century) where the poverty-stricken groups of the population possessing little or almost no property and lacking possibilities for financing were united in organizations for mutual aid. The aim was to make investments with the aid of small credits that were of use for all members of the group and were beyond the powers of the individual members that could not receive this financing. Proving its practical relevance micro-financing was modified, developed, evolved and globally spread in the whole world (even in the USA). A general tendency for gradual decrease of the classical social elements for the sake of activation and engagement of the receiver of micro-financial services has been identified. The globalization, internationalization and liberalization of the financial markets, the development of the IT-technologies, the harmonization of our legislation with the European one, the changes in the behaviour of the clients have increased the competitive pressure. As a result of this, on the one hand, an enrichment of the strategies of the financial mediators by formulation of policies related to expansion of their activities in the sector of micro-financial services has been observed, and on the other hand new players have appeared on this market which accelerates its restructuring and its movement to a customer's market. This development results in an increase of the rate of economic and social development in the regions, employment, well-being and improved life quality.
