Thje influence of some herbicides on the quality of soybean seeds

The aim of this study was determination of the influence of different herbicides (soil and foliar) on the quantity of soybean seeds at different rate and duration of herbicide use. The investigation was conducted in 1988-1990 on Pelic Vertisols at the research station of Institute of Soil Science 'N. Poushkarov'- Kostinbrod and included two -factors field experiment in two field crop rotation – wheat – soybean. The trials were carried out after the perpendicular method in four replications with plot size of 30 m2. The soybean treatment with the herbicides examined (soil and foliar) leaded to changes in percentage content of some fatty acids. In most cases the amount of saturated acids increased and vice versa – the quantities of unsaturated acids decreased the biological value of seeds from the treated variants.
