Studies on some paraclinical indices in lambs of various breeds

Haemaological studies were performed in 48 clinically healthy lambs from different breeds divided into 4 experimental groups /n=12/. Blood was sampled for haematological determinations of red blood cell counts - total - white blood cell counts - haemoglobon content - haematocrit - mean corpuscular volume - blood glucose - total protein - aspartataminotransaminase - alaninaminotransaminase - triglycerides - calcium - inorganic phosphorus and magnesium. The haematological indices were higher in the lambs of Ile de France breed. The haemoglobin content mean corpuscular volume - aspartaminotransaminase inorganic phosphorus and magnesium were highest in the lambs of Mouton Charollais breed. The total white blood cell counts and calcium were highest in the lambs of Bulgarian synthetic dairy population.
