Research results of studies of the dynamics of the photodestructive processes induced by endogenous porphyrins in green germs of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) and their comparison with the changes in structural components of photosynthetic membranes were presented. Gel-electrophoresis of chloroplasts treated with digitonin in low-solt medium made it possible to isolate the poly functional supracomplexes (PFSC) containing photosystems 1 and 2 and particles containing a part of light-harvesting complex. Changes of chlorophyllous pigments in the electrophoretic zones in course of leaves lighting by continuous light and treated by the inductors of oxidative stress were analysed. In the conditions of photooxidative stress induced by porphyrins accumulated in darkness in the presence of Mn2+ and 5-aminolevulinic acid there was observed the increase (in 2,5 times) of lipid peroxidation and decrease (on 76%) of chlorophyll and carotenoids content in comparison with the control group of green leaves which did not contain endogenous porphyrins. Concurrently the substantial modification of PFSC composition took place. Research results showed that in the first place there was the destruction of complexes containing both photosystem 1 and photosystem 2. Destruction process of PFSC containing photosystem 1 proceeded more slowly and was accompanied by the detachment of photosystem 1 light-harvesting complex
