[Use of a preparation Sel-Plex-50 for gastroenteritis prophylaxis at piglets]

For the prophylaxis of gastroenteritis in piglets the Sel-Plex product was approved, it contains organic selenium. The hematological dynamics and the activity of antioxidative system ware monitored. Included in the pigs and sows nutrition in doses of 1 kg/1 tone of feed for 14-15 days before and for 35 day after farrowing, proved good results in pigs development, growth and low mortality rates. A positive effect was noted in hematopoesis (the number of erythrocytes and the quantity of hemoglobinum were higher) and in the immune system (a higher number of leukocytes and lymphocytes) confirmed by the significant difference (p0,05). It was observed that the concentration of malondialdehyde (MDA) and the Hydroperoxide Lipids (HPL) decreased, but the total antioxidant activity of the blood and erythrocytes increased
