[Velikan is a new turkey cross]

In a cut of microlines (families) at the general annual livestock more than 4 thousand individuals an estimation breeding and productive qualities of lines Byut - 8 and Big - 5, and also their compatibility are spent. Turkey cross Velikan (V - 12) with following indicators of efficiency is created: alive weight of hybrid turkey poults in 17 weeks of 9,06 kg, including males 10,5 and females of 8,02 kg, egg production of layers of the maternal form for a 6-months cycle egg laying 86,3 pieces of eggs, breeding of hybrid turkey poults more than 70%, alive weight of males in 24 weeks of 15,7 kg. The paternal form of new cross is line V - 1, alive weight of males reaches 10,66 kg in 17 weeks of, females - 8,00 kg acordingly. The maternal form of cross V – 2 at the specified age is characterized by alive weight of males 10,41 kg, females 7,84 kg. At the final stage of growing the best data on a gain of alive weight are received at hybrids in comparison with initial lines as more later display of heterosis at interline hybrids takes place. Use of the created cross Velikan in production allows to receive economic benefit in amount of 19740 thousand rubles in the prices on 1.10.2005 in accounting on 1000 heads of parental herd of turkeys-layers
