The results of AFLP (amplified fragment length polymorphism) analysis of fingerprinting in sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) lines of gynogenetical origin are presented. Identification of sugar beet gynogenetic lines representing different cultivars became possible due to AFLP primers selection and pertinent DNA profiles investigation. The comparison of DNA spectra of donor plants and their gynogenetic offsprings helped in assessment of homozygous and heterozygous level in two diploid standard sugar beet cultivars bred in Belarus. The maximal heterozygous level of Belorusskaya odnosemennya 69 and Ganusovskaya odnosemennaya 5 was 55,3%. With the help of selected AFLP primers and investigation of proper DNA profiles it was possible to identify the gynogenetic lines of sugar beet obtained from various cultivars. The obtained data made it possible to prove that method of gynogenesis in vitro could be used as the effective experimental method for generation of various original fixed homozygous genotypes of sugar beet on the basis of existing heterozygous diploid standard varieties
