[Numerical and functional characteristics of the zooplankton of the Dnieper river in the vicinity of large cities of Belarus and its role in the self - purification processes]

The structural and functional parameters of the zooplankton of river Dnepr river in the territory of Belarus is given. The number and the biomass of the zooplankton increased from headwaters to inferior. Changes of number and a biomass of the zooplankton were accompanied by structural rearrangement of separate bunches in assemblage. The lobe of Rotifera grew and Crustacea decreased on more polluted fields of the river. The zooplankton of Dnepr is characterized by small sizes of the production. The summer production of the zooplankton in 12 times is higher winter. The role of the zooplankton is insignificant in a self-cleaning of waters of Dnepr river
