[Physical and mechanical properties of root crops and their powders for the production of food colouring substances]

Results of investigation of physical and mechanical properties (length, diameter, weight) of beet, carrot and their powders with the help of the modern equipment and techniques were presented. Method of determination of the coefficient of friction of milled material on the basis of the ring shaped work disks with the working space taking place in the process of raw materials transportation from initial to the final stages of food processing was developed. The coefficients of frictions at the stage of exponential phase and stage of the milled material movement over the different surfaces were calculated and applied for the design and development of the machinery for the production of powdery colouring substances for foodstuffs production in the Republic of Belarus. The appropriate equipment used for the determination of the coefficients of frictions, elemental scheme of the modernized device for their calculation were presented
