The field experiment was conducted in farmers field Gando Payakumbuh, Lima Puluh Kota, West Sumatra. In the planting season 2001, from June to September 2001. The experiment was design in the Randomized Block Designed (RBD) with four replications. The treatments were 5 fertilization packages (A.150 kg Urea + 100 kg SP36 + 50 kg KCl + 50 kg Za/ha, B. 100 kg Urea + 200 kg SS + 50 kg KCl/ha, C. 100 kg Urea + 2 percent SS + 200 kg SS/ha, D. 100 kg Urea + 300 kg NPK, and E. 100 kg Urea + 2 percent NPK + 200 kg NPK/ha). The result showed that, application of 5 fertilization packages gave significant effect on plant growth, yield components and yield of rice. Application of E fertilization packages (100 kg Urea + 200 kg NPK + 2 percent NPK (starter) gave the best plant growth, the highest yield components and yield of rice. Increasing of 2 percent NPK (starter) on 200 kg NPK fertilization equal to application 300 kg NPK/ha on plant growth, yield components and yield of rice.
