Effect of organic matter and K fertilizer on yield of cucumber

A field experiment was conducted at farmers field in Kuranji, Padang from July to September 2002 to determine the effect of different kinds of organic matter and K fertilizer on yield of cucumber. Two kinds of organic matter (chicken and cattle manure), 10 t/ha as the first factor and three levels of K fertilizer (100, 200, and 300 kg KCl/ha) as the second factor were arranged in factorial randomized block design with four replications. Result showed that number and weight of fruit and yield of fresh fruit significantly increased with chicken manure application. Increased K fertilizer application did not significantly affect on number and weight of fruit and yield of fresh fruit.
