Crob Moth , Ectomyelois ceratoniae is a key pest in nearly all pomegranate in Iran orchards. Labortory investigations on this pest seriaes sometimes difficult , especially in out season when no fruit is available .Therefore, it is essential to find some artificial diets at lab condition. In this study first instar larvae of carob moth on three diet composition ( artificial and semi- artificial) and natural diet ( pomegranate fruits). The components of the artificial diet treatments were as 1) treatment 1and3 : pert of soybeen 30 gr. , soybeen oil 5 cc., yeast 3 gr., formaldehyde 1 cc. ,Beetroot molasses 20 cc. and pomegranate fruit (ovendried and freez dried)20 gr. and water 2) treatment 2: pert of soybeen 30 gr., soybeen oil 3cc., yeast 3 gr., formaldehyde 1 cc.,Nacl 1 gr., Feso4 2.5 gr., rice bran 10 gr.and wheat germ 10 gr., Beetroot molasses 20 cc and water The laboratory condition was 27-29c , 65-75% RH, and 16:8 L.D. The egg incubation, larval, pupal and adult periods, the generation time (egg-adult) and the sex ratio were recorded for the pest reared on the three diet treatments and the control as well. The shortest larval , pupal ,adult , the generation time (egg-adult) periods, percentage of female fertility and percentage of mortality were recorded on treatment 1 and the longest on treatment 2. The shortest adult male and female periods were seen on treatment 2 and the longest on treatment 1. The Sex ratio (male -Female ) were the smallest on treatment 1 and the largest on the treatment 3. The larvae were successfully reared for five generations on the treatment 1. The shortest growth period and the most number of females fertility and eggs were seen on the at fifth generation .
