In this study , MDF was produced from Reeds ( Phragmites australis ) in three steaming time of 5 , 10 , 15 minutes and in two steaming temperatures of 170 and 180 . The Reed samples were collected from Hor – Alazym and Talabe – Anzalye areas. The anatomical properties of Reeds two areas such as fiber dimentions and fiberboard properties such as MOR , MOE , IB and Thickness Swelling after 2 and 24 hours were studied . Fiber length , fiber diameter , lumen cell diameter , and cell wall thickness of Reeds in Hor – Alazym and Talabe - Anzaly areas were respectively measured 1.28 mm, 17.37 , 6.61 and 5 .38 and 1.38 mm , 17.07, 6.15, 5.46. The results of MDF properties indicated that MOR , MOE and IB increased upon decreasing steaming time and steaming temperture . Thus maximum of MOR , MOE and IB were obtained in steaming time of 5 minutes and steaming temperature of 170 . Also the results of MDF dimentional stabilities indicated that Thickness Swelling after 2 and 24 hours decreased upon increasing steaming time and steaming temprature.
