Rosa damascene is one of the aromatic and medicinal plants which its flower are used for obtaining rosewater by traditional and industrial methods. In addition to rosewater , 0/02 percentage essential oil is obtained wich is named First oil or Direct oil . this essential oil is very valuble but there are many water soluble compound wich are solvent in rosewater and therefore they should be extracted by different distillation methods . In this research we use two methods for redistillation of rosewater. They were distillation at atmospheric pressure ( 760 Torr ) and vacuum . At both methods , all physicochemical parameters should be controlled till the best essential oil obtained .Now,this essential oil is named water oil or second oil. Different percentage of these mixed oils ( Firs-and Second oil ) compose Rose oil . Essential oil was extracted from Rosewater by two Methods, were evaluated for their chemical composition by GC and GC/MS . Comparative study of main components of essential oil obtained by redistillation at atmospheric pressure and vacuum showed that the perecentage of alcohols has increased at vacuum methods . the amount of 2-phenyl alcohol has increased from 5.62% to 7.52% , followed by citronelol from 59.49% to 61.17% and geraniol from 13.23% to 14.25% .
