English. Total and free iodothyronines levels of horses were evaluated before and after confinement in a stationary vehicle and during road transport. Significant effects of confinement plus transport were detected, showing higher levels of T3, T4 and fT3 during road transport as compared to values obtained after confinement in a stationary vehicle. On the contrary, lower levels of fT4 after road transport as compared to after confinement were obtained. Serum fT3 levels showed a peculiar pattern after confinement and transport procedures

Sono stati rilevati effetti significativi del confinamento e del trasporto, evidenziandosi livelli più alti di T3, T4 ed fT3 nel corso del trasporto su strada rispetto ai valori ottenuti dopo il confinamento in un veicolo fermo. Al contrario, sono stati ottenuti livelli più bassi di fT4 dopo il trasporto su strada rispetto al confinamento. I livelli sierici di fT3 hanno evidenziato un particolare andamento dopo le operazioni di confinamento e trasporto.]
