Micropropagation of Chrysanthemum morifolium cv. Brietner

In the method detailed, actively growing chrysanthemum shoots were cut into 2 to 3 Cm cuttings, each with at least one node. These were washed and further trimmed after sterilizing in 70% ethanol (50 second) followed by sodium hypochlorite, then placed on MS (Murashige and Skoog) and MS supplemented with NAA 0.25 mg/l and BA 2mg/l in test tubes and kept at 25؛C in 16 h days under 3000 lux. Shoot and root formation of micropropagated plantlets were studied at these mediums. Growth rate of shoot and root on MS medium (without growth regulators) was 50% more than same samples on MS medium supplemented with NAA and BA due to callus production. Micropropagated plants by reducing humidity, completing light and sterilize media were successfully (91/3%) transferred to In vivo condition.
