Effect of Breed Strain Disease ,Environmental Conditions and Management on Mortality in Commercial Egg Type Layers

This study is based on a survey that was carried out to investigate th eeffects of strain of birds ,feeding practice ,diseases ,environmental conditionds and management on mortality onat commercial layer farms in four middle governorates of Jordan.Th einvestigations were conducted on54 farms that housed a total of 2.4million laying hens .Farms managerswere individualy interviewed .The study period was between Septemper and December ,2004.The information was collected by a questioannaire .The least square analysis revealed that the factors significantly affected seasonal mortality were breed strain ,farm design distance from other farms,eggproduction at twenty weeks of age ,vaccine type,vaccine solvent,disease ,widow size ,light intensity ,soybean mael,limestone ,feed additives,feed energy level,water source ,number of drinker lines ,chick density ,ditribution of of chicks to area ,litter disinfections ,and manager experience.Winter mortality was 6.37% with a maximum level of 13%.The minimum mortality was 1.0% in all four seasons .Summer mortality was 4.38%. babcock (both B300 and Brown varieties )and Hy-Line w97 strains had better tolerance to increasing and decreasing of environmental tempratures during summer and winter .whereas ,Hisex(Bovans ,Neaman and white varieties )and Lohman LS strains types had better tolerance to temprature fluctuationsand resulted in lower mortality throughout the year .Using skimme dmilk a svaccine diluents instead of regular chlorinated warte rresulted in reduced mortality in winter and throughout theyear laying hens .Bacterial diseases were the most omportant infectious diseases for laying hens during both rearing and production periods .Incrasing window sizes of the laying hen houses lead to lower annual mortality than those which had smaller size windows .Mortality were lower forlayer farms than were managed by experience d farm managers.

Arabic. تقدم هذه الدراسة مسحا تم اجراؤه لدراسة تاثيرات التركيب الوراثي لدجاج البيض،واساليب التغذية والامراض ،والاجوال البيئية نوالادارة ،على معدلات النفوق لدجاج البيض في المزارع التجارية في الاردن .اجريت الدراسة على 54 مزرعة تحوي 2.4 مليون طير.تمت مقابلة اصحاب هذه المزارع خلال الفترة من ايلول الى كانون الاول عام 2004زجمعت معلومات هذه الدراسة بواسطة استبانة تم تقديمها لاصحاب المزارع ،وقد بين تحليل المربعات الصغرى ان المعاملات ذات التاثير المعنوي عاى معدلات النفوق هي :التركيب الوراثي للطير ،وتصميم المزرعة ،والمسافة بين المزرعة وما يجاورها من مزارع ،ونسبة انتاج البيض على عمر 20اسبوع،وبعض انواع اللقاحات المستخدمة ،والامراض ،ومساحة الشبابيك،وشدة الاضاءة،ونسبة الصويا والرمل في الخلطة،والطاقة الكلية في الخلطة،والمشارب ومصادر المياه المستخدمة ،وكثافة الصو ص في المتر المربع،وتطهير القرشة،وخبرة مدير المزرعة.وبينت الدراسة ان اعلى نسبة للنفوق الفصلي (13%( كانت خلال فصل الشتاء واقل نسبة للنفوق (1%(كانت متساوية للفصول الاربعة ،واعلى نسبة لمتوسطات النفوق الفصلية 6.37% كانت خلال فصل الشتاء تليها نسبة 4.38% في فصل الصيف .اما افضل مقاومة للارتفاع والانخفاض في درجات الحرارة جلال فصلي الصيف والشتاء فقد اظهرتها سلالة البابكوك وسلالة الهاي لاين على التوالي.ومن ناحية اخرى ،اظهرت سلالتا هاي سكس ولوهمان افضل مقاومة للتغير في درجات الحرارةواقل نسبة للنفوق على مدار السنة.وقد ادى استخدام الحليب المقشود عند تحضير اللقلح بدلا من استخدام الماء وحده الى انخفاض نسبة النفوق في فصل الشتاء وعلى مدار السنة .وكان الاصابة بالامراض البكتيرية خلال فترتي التربية والانتاج تمثل اعلى النسب .وتقلل زيادة مساحة الشبابيك للبيوت معدلات النفوق السنوية في مزارع دجاج البيض.
