English. A kinematic analysis of the action of the knives of a flail mower is proposed by means of the parametric equations that derive the trajectory of the cutting edges during their movement. The relation between the constructional and kinematic parameters of these devices and the cycloid trajectory of the cutting edge and its influence on work quality is also examined, in order to demonstrate that the quality depends more on the interaction of the knives with the vegetal material during the whole chopping process than on the characteristics of the trajectory

Viene anche esaminata la relazione fra i parametri costruttivi e cinematici di questi organi e la traiettoria cicloidale descritta dal filo dei coltelli e la sua influenza sulla qualità del lavoro, per dimostrare che questa dipende più dall'interazione dei coltelli con il materiale vegetale durante l'intero processo di taglio che dalle caratteristiche della traiettoria dei coltelli.]
