Survival time of pine wood nematodes (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus) in wood chips (3 x 3 x 20 mm) and wood blocks (9 x 9 x 9 cm) was investigated. In wood chips and wood blocks, nematodes survived for three to nine months. As the moisture content of pine wood reduced, the number of nematodes decreased. Therefore, survival time of nematodes was affected by reduction of moisture content.
