This paper represents the review and prospect on the author's research works during 40 years since 1967 when the author started his researching life at the Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine. The fields which the author has took strong interests in, are mainly the time series analysis and stochastic control of ship's behavior at irregular sea, the tracking problem and the minimum time berthing problem of ships. In this paper, those researching works are shown using the actual experimental results.
