Effect of the sowing method, sowing date and row spacing on the yield and fodder value of autumn regrowth and straw of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) on the seed plantation

The goal of the research was determination of possibilities of usage the seed plantation of perennial ryegrass (sown by different methods, dates and row spacing) as a grazing forage. An exact field experiment was conducted in which was investigated the effect of various variants of estabilishing perennial ryegrass seed plantation on the yield and fodder value of autumn regrowth and straw. The experiment was set up in three series 1998 trough 2000 and carried out for two years of full use. The regrowth yield in the first year amounted 3.09 t/ha and in the second year - it was half lower. The row spacing did not show a significant effect on the content of total protein and crude fiber in autumn regrowth in two years of full use
