Isolation of lactic acid bacteria as probiotics strains from chicken gut

39 LAB strains were isolated from chicken. As a results of preliminary selection 5 of them for further work were chosen. Lactobacillus sp. and Bifidibacterium sp. strains on the basis of morphological and biochemical properties of strains were identified. Tested microorganisms demonstrated capacity for the production of desirable metabolites in the aspect of their usefulness as probiotics. Tested microorganisms showed good tolerance to low pH and oxgall. The strains produced metabolites that inhibited the growth all used pathogenic strains
