Rainfall intensity measurements are a basic and necessary elements at the process of drainage systems' design and exploitation for urban areas. Spatial measurements of the instant rainfall intensity allow for monitoring and controlling storm water outflow. Different techniques of rainfall intensity measurements are presented and discussed in this paper. Moreover, the construction and functioning of a new electronic gravimetric rain-gauge designated especially for rainfall intensity measurements for the purposes of drainage systems' exploitation and design are described
