Obtained from different sources waste-wood is, in Poland, burned in typical boilers and chamber ovens. Before burning every branch is cut on ten centimeter pieces. This phenomenon takes place especially in countryside. However a great quantity of waste wood is chipped on small pieces, called chips, by chipper. The important factor of this process is to guarantee low individual consumption of energy for chipping large diameter branches of wood. The investigated, realized within the framework of the advisable project ROW-292-2003 by the firm INVENTOR - Jonski Jan and Maria, Mokobody, wood chipper can chip branches with diameter up to 200 mm. During the investigation were chipped the branches of Rhus typhina L. The paper presents test data of investigation concerning the energetic load of prototype wood chipper type RD during the Rhus typhina L. chipping
