Viral genomes and their replication strategies

The main feature of viral genomes is one out of four plausible arrangements of nucleic acid: single or double strand DNA or RNA, which determines differences in their replication. The main stages of viral infection are: cell diagnosis, penetration, genome transcription with the formation of mRNA translation, genome replication and release of the offspring virions. Some types of viruses consist of positive strand RNA, which directly serves as mRNA. In the case of negative strand genomes the RNA's transcript is produced by viral transcription of RNA, whereas DNA's genome transcription is proceeded by cellular DNA's dependants RNA polymerases. The viral genome replication is not precise what results in processes which lead to genetic differentiation
