The aim of the paper was the presentation of main sources and various kinds of soil pollution. The effects both intended and by-products of mechanization on soil environment were depicted. The mechanical and chemical pollution of soil were also presented. Then the processes of destruction of the surface level of soil by wind and water erosion and ways of counteracting it were put forward. Also soil devastation and ways and aims of ground recultivation were depicted in the paper
