In the work presented are results of preliminary laboratory testing of hand operated chain saws and their mechanical vibrations influence on the chain saw's operator. In the confines of the work presented are results of identification of acceleration values of mechanical vibrations for chosen hand chain saws, which are acting on the wrists as well as on the cervical and pelvic vertebrae of chain saw's operator in the range of low and mean frequencies. In the time of realization of the subject the dynamic characteristics (Frequency Response Functions FRF) of the relation: human-chain saw were determined. Obtained data will also be helpful when an assessment and activity is taken up for improvement of conditions and work safety of chain saw's operators. The testing was carried out according to the cooperation agreement between the Forestry Engineering Department of Agricultural Academy and the Power and Dynamics of Agricultural Machines Department of the Industrial Institute of Agricultural Engineering in Poznan, signed in 2001
