In 2002 and 2003, in a unheated, greenhouse, a two-factor pot experiment was carried out. Polish hot pepper cultivars: Cyklon, Orkan, Wulkan were grown in a substrate of mineral soil and raised peat (v:v - 4:1). Different potassium fertilizer was used KNO3 and mixture of KNO3+KCl and K2SO4 in 1:1K proportion. The remaining macro- and micro-components constitued the background of the studies. The highest yield in all cultivars was obtained by fertilization with KNO3+K2SO4. Orkan cultivar have the best yield. Type of potassium fertilizer had no effect on the quality of fruits. The highest content of dry matter, capsaicinoids and carotenoids were found in Wulkan cultivar
