Prevention of bees poisoning in plant protection treatments

Protection of honeybees other pollinators is one of the basic duties of plant protection treatment performers. Changes in the active ingredients used in plant protection products and better spraying techniques led to reduction of the poisoning of honeybees, but still 5-20 percent honeybees' hives are poisoned every year in Poland. In the aim of further reduction of the threat of plant protection treatments to honeybees important legal acts were introduced to the Polish Plant Protection Act. Presently the accidents of bee poisoning are caused mainly by mistakes of treatment performers and not following obligatory rules. Additional trainings for plant protection products' users are necessary
