The research was conducted and its goal was to determine willow power consumption in the Valley of Lower Vistula on soil of silt texture gained in 1, 2, and 3-year cycles. The whole energy expenditure was divided into two stages. The first one included founding a plantation, and the second one concerned utilization in particular harvest cycles. The willow harvest energy rate was calculated from the product of the harvest of dry wood matter and its combustion heat. The energy expenditure for growing and harvesting willow in three different cycles was similar, estimating ca 10 GJ/ha x year and the energy rate of a given biomass crop was between 210 and 360 GJ/ha x year. Energy efficiency expressed by the ratio of the crop energy rate to the expenditure was very high
