In a long-band field experiment the influence of farmyard manure (35 t/ha) and winter wheat straw (6 t/ha + 40 kg N in urea form) with NPK fertilization on field emergence and yield of sugarbeet was investigated. The kind of organic manure had no influence on the germination and the roots weight of the plants, plants density at harvest, yield of sugar and number of fangy roots. A higher yield of roots, size of the foliage coefficient and crown height of roots was noticed after usage of farmyard manure. The tested cultivars differed in weight of the plants, roots, and sugar yield, crown height of roots, and number of fangy roots. The highest root, leaf, and sugar yield was for the Cordelia cultivar
