Climate change and forest genetic diversity: implications for sustainable forest management in Europe.
2007
Koskela, J. | Buck, A. | Teissier du Cros, E. (eds.)
Bioversity International and the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) organized a workshop in Paris on 15 and 16 March 2006 to discuss the role of forest genetic diversity in mitigating the effects of climate change and in maintaining sustainable forest management in Europe. This publication contains invited papers presented during the workshop, summaries of the outputs of working group discussions and recommendations for further action. The content provides an up-to-date review of knowledge on how forest trees will cope with and adapt to climate change, the implications for forest management and conservation of forest genetic diversity, and how regional and national strategies should address these challenges
