Glamocic, D., Poljoprivredni fakultet, Beograd - Zemun (Serbia)
The accurate prediction of dry matter intake (DMI) enables composition of quality and cheap rations as well as higher production of milk. The aims of this work are: development of a new model for DMI prediction in feeding of high yielding Holstein cows. The data for the development of a new model originate from 119 Holstein cows (25,710 daily observations) from the OARDC farm in Wooster (1992-1994). After detailed regression analysis body weight, energy corrected milk, factor for correction in the phase of early lactation and factor for correction of the effect of management were included into the new mathematical model for the prediction of DMI.
