The purpose of hay forage production is in its use in livestock production. The actual indicators of forage feed values are net energy value for milk production (NEL) and net energy value for liveweight gain (NEM), and they were measured for grass hay during the 2004-2005. It is noticed that equal energy value was nearly equal with and without N-spring application by years. Net energy value of meadow grass mixture was properly changed by N fertilization in 2005, and NEL and NEM are decreased by increased rates of N (NEL 4.23-4.10 MJ/kg, i.e. NEM 4.03-3.86 MJ/kg), while in 2004 it was not possible to find any significant shift. However, N-spring application increased hay yield and influenced energy value of hay by quantitative features.
