Briquetting and pelleting biomass

The review of former experiences in the work with installations for briquetting and peletting of biomass was presented in the paper. It was found that the biomass briquettes and pellets may return it shape if the press realizes high pressure of 150 to 200 bars and increased temperature of 80 to 90 deg C, in order to stick the chopped cellulose matarial. The optimal moisture content for pressing of chopped material is 14 to 18%. In paper is given price of briquettes and pelettes. In conclusion of paper is accented that produce of pelettes has economic justification if it export at Europe market.
