An estimation of two treating routes for purulent pododermatitis in stabled cows keeping on ceramic floor with bedding litter is given. The new route as proposed included: using a slings to fix cows (the experimental group) proposed by Kutlukaev I. I. and Islyaev V. N., hoof clearing and removing necrotized tissues on the background of an interdigital Novocain blockade, using a complicated powder (potassium permanganate and boric acid – 1:4), a haemostatic sponge and plaster bandage throughout the surface of hoofs. According to the route applied in the farm the cows of control group were fixed with a knee twitch and after hoof toilet the affected regions were treated with an ASD-3 tricyllinum fraction and a bandage with ichthyol ointment was applied. The therapeutic efficacy of the route was estimated the number of procedures, treatment duration and hematological parameters at days 1, 7 and 13. In the cows of experimental group at days 3-4 there was observed a great reduction of swelling and purulent exudate whose release completely stopped at days 7-8. In the region of a sole there was observed a tumidity and lameness of average severity, the wound healing occurred at days 27-30 (in the control – days 35-39) while keeping a plaster bandage for 7-9 days (in the control – 2-3 days). The content of total protein and its fractions in the blood serum of cows in both the groups at the beginning of treatment was lowered (at the first day 67.75 and 13.49 – experimental; 68.34 and 13.77 – control, respectively) having restored by the end of the treatment up to 77.36, 15.81, 76.03 and 15.67, respectively. It is concluded that the efficacy of the new treatment route is connected with using the plaster bandage requiring no frequent changes and having good absorption; the haemostatic sponge creating with the complicated powder a powerful antimicrobial background and an absorbing exudate. The fixation of cows in the slings proposed was done by 2 men taking 5-10 min to treat a sick hoof (in the control group – 4 men and 15 min, respectively).
