The book contains the literary information and the personal investigation results on the hormone status, the peculiarities of the carbohydrate, protein, lipid exchange, morphobiochemical blood parameters of Gorno-Altai hair breed goats in comparison with other types of animals. The survey of the modern notions about adaptation, the role of the endocrine system in the process of animal vital activities and adaptation is given. The characteristics of the adrenal cortex hormonbuilding function, tyroid and sexual glands in view of age, season and inhabitance area of goats was given. The information about biochemical and morphological indices peculiarities of goat blood such as quantitative glucose content and dynamic, whole protein and its fractions, whole lipids, triglyceriole, holesterol and its distribution in different density lipoproteins is given. The hormone and metabolic mechanisms of adaptation changes in Gorno-Altai hair breed goats in postnatal ontogenesis are analysed. The greatest attention is paid to the complex study of hormones concentration (cortysol, thyroxine, triiodtyronine, progesterone, estradiol-17 beta, testosterone). The character of hormone contents changes, defining the intensity and trend of metabolic processes is shown. The publication contains 16 tables and 367 sources bibliographical index. The book is intended for physiologists, veterinarians, zooengineers, teachers and students of the veterinary medicine institute and zooengineering faculty.
