Effect of Galega orientalis Lam. inoculation on its yield and nitrogen content monitored over several years

A Galega orientalis micro-plot trial was set up on a chernozem soil in eight 1 square meter concrete cases on April 5, 1993. Four cases were inoculated with a moist product containing effective rhizobia (strain 801) specific for Galega orientalis, while the other four were left untreated. Over the ensuing period of 14 years, fresh plant biomass was harvested in 2 or 3 cuttings each year (completing the trial in 2006), depending on humidity and temperature. A single cutting was taken only in the first year. It was found that inoculation has stimulate effect on the plant growth, biomass yield and N content in biomass comparing to the control.
