Syndrome principle of diagnostics of illnesses of the cattle liver

The efficacy of using the syndrome principle was shown in early diagnosis of liver pathology in late pregnant cows 30 days before calving at one of the farms in the Voronezh Region. A group of cows with signs of toxicosis was divided out after a preventive medical examination. Their biochemical blood test allowed to identify hepatodepressive syndrome (HDS) in 47.3%, cytolytic – in 26.3%, cholestatic – in 15.8% and mesenchymal inflammation (MIS) – in 10.6%. In late pregnant cows with HDS there was a decrease in total protein by 21.2%, albumins – by 57.0, cholesterol – by 10.2, fibrinogen – by 10.0 and blood viscosity – by 12.4%. The extension of prothrombin time and activated fractional thromboplastic time by 22.9 and 19.8%, respectively, as well as reducing the blood coagulation factors V and VII were found. Under cytolysis syndrome an increase in enzyme activity and iron concentration were observed. The cholestasis syndrome was accompanied by 3.3 times higher activity of alkaline phosphotase, the level of total lipids – 2 times, as well as the presence of bile pigments and urobilin in urine. Mesenchymal inflammation was characterized by higher gamma-globulins by 715 with hyperproteinemia; positive zinc-sulfate liver test. It is concluded that the syndrome approach for estimation of functional state of livers in late pregnant cows with signs of toxicosis will promote the effectiveness of the current treatment.
