Native dendroflora of National Park Tara [Serbia]

Dentroflora of National Park Tara (Serbia) was researched. Total number of 129 woody species is recorded, seven species of Gymnosperms and 122 of Angiosperms. WIthin Angiosperms, 121 species belong to classis Magnoliopsida, and one species to classis Liliopsida. Genera with the highest number of species are: Rosa (10), Salix and Chamaecytisus (7 per genus), Acer and Quercus (6 per genus), Rubus, Sorbus and Genistra (5 per genus). Endemic and relic species posses special significance. Represented endemics of Balkan Peninsula are: Serbian spruce (Picea omorika/Pancic/Purkyne), greek maple (Acer heldreichii Orph.), Genistra depressa M. Bieb. and Chamaecytisus tomasinii (Vis.) Rohm. About half of woody species of Serbia grow in National Park Tara, which shows great floristic richness and diversity of this area.
