This paper deals with the structure and diversity highly structured forests of beech and valuable broadleaves in the National Park Djerdap (Serbia). The structure and the diversity have been analysed and numerical defined by the Clark-Evans index, so-called dbh-differentiation of trees by Fueldner and Shannon diversity index. The application of the structural index in the quantification of the diversity of forest stands enables an explicit comparison of the diversity level among different forest communities, as well as between forest and other ecosystems and can be highly applicable in the forest stands.
