The influence of training system and plant density on the costs of green pruning of some plum cultivars

The paper presents the costs of green pruning in a seven-year old plum orchard planted with cvs Cacanska Lepotica and Stanley that have been grown at different plant densities and training systems (Spindle and V system). The greatest number of working hours for the performance of green pruning was reported in cv Stanley (140.3 h/ha) under the spindle system at spacing 4 x 1.25 m, whereas the fewest was needed in cv Cacanska Lepotica under the identical training system, i.e. 4 x 1.5 m (50 h/ha).
