Variability of grain filling parameters in wheat genotypes of different earliness. [M.Sc. thesis]
2004
Brdar, M,
Variability of grain filling parameters was investigated in 4 groups of wheat genotypes which are different inearlines, and control group of high yielding NS cultivars. Observed parameters (final grain dry weight, grain filling duration, maximum and average grain filling rate) and parameters estimated (Darroch and Baker 1990) by nonlinear regression (final grain dry weight - W, grain filling duration - T, maximum grain filling rate - R) were studied. There were significant differences among genotypes in groups, and among groups for all analysed parameters. Significant set of parameters which are responsible for differentiating among group grain filling curves in 2001 (an unfavourable environment) contained T, W, and R. The highest final grain dry weight had extra early genotypes and NS cultivars, and the final grain dry weight was positively correlated with duration and average rate of grain filling. Medium late and NS cultivars had the highest final grain dry weight.
