Apple pomaces obtained from selected apple varieties (Pinova, Reinders, Jonagold, Iduna, Braeburn and Granny Smith) and also industrial pomace were extracted with 80% methanol. The content of total polyphenolics, flavonoids, anthocyans and flavan-3-ols in obtained apple pomace extracts was determined by spectrophotometric methods. The content of all individual polyphenolics in examined extracts was determined by HPLC analysis. The influence of investigated extracts on stable DPPH radicals and reactive hydroxyl radicals was examined by electronic spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy. Antiproliferative activity of extracts was determined on human cancer cell lines: human epithelial carcinoma (HeLa), human colon adenocarcinoma (HT-29) and human breast adenocarcinoma (MCF7).
