The influence of choice driving energy on investment and expenses, is considered in this paper. The parameters are compared by electro and diesel engine on example of regional irrigation systems. The structure of investment for the two kind drive is analysed. The cost of exploitation (amortization, maintenance, insurance, labour power) and specially energy cost are calculated for two variants of driver. The results are showed the advantage of electro drive in investment and diesel drive in expenses.
