Jazbec, I., Ljubljana Univ. (Slovenia). Veterinary Fac.
This paper deals with the establishment of the Central Veterinary Hospital (CVH) in Ljubljana in 1945 and its operation from November 1945 to the end of 1950. The establishment of the CVH is documented indirectly. The Veterinary Council of the Slovenian National Liberation Council decided at its session of 23 February 1945 that the Central Veterinary Hospital should be established in Ljubljana after the war. A veterinary report by the district veterinarian of Ljubljana, Dr. Albin Sedej, of 6 December 1945 said that the first Central Veterinary Hospital and Institute for the Prevention of Bovine Infertility had been founded. In the annual veterinary report for the year 1946 Milan Dolenc, the head of the Veterinary Department at the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of Slovenia, wrote that the Central Veterinary Hospital started operating on 21 November 1945.
