Revitalization possibilities of the river Váh old branch near the town of Komárno

Recreational areas near towns and cities at stagnant surface waters are getting ground in many areas in Slovakia. However, the use of waters like this for leisure and recreation is conditioned by several requirements. Perhaps the most important are the requirements for water quality in compliance with Directive 76/160/EEC concerning water quality for bathing and the application of the Directive to Slovak legislation. The problem is not only bad physical-chemical quality 01 water, but mainly wrong biological quality of water. There is a lack 01 experience in solving this state. The aim of the work is to find a possible solution for revitalizing the old branch of the river Váh near the town of Komárno. The objective is to improve the possibilities of recreation in this locality.
